Free Etsy listing checker
Paste a listing link and see exactly why it isn't getting views: title structure, the 13 tags, missing attributes, the first sentence of the description, photos and alt text, and anything that could get it removed. Score out of 100, fixes written out.
What the listing checker looks at
Etsy search reads a handful of fields on every listing and ranks on relevance first. The checker runs the same rules we use in the shop audit on a single listing:
Keyword chains separated by commas or pipes, words repeated three or more times, titles over 140 characters, ALL CAPS. The first ~40 characters are what shoppers actually see.
Etsy indexes descriptions. If the opening sentence doesn't name the product the way the title does, the strongest signal in the description is wasted.
Empty slots, single-word tags, duplicates and tags that only repeat the title. Test a set by hand with the tag checker.
Colour, material, occasion, room, style — the sidebar filters. A listing with no Primary colour disappears as soon as a shopper filters by colour. Which attributes matter.
Fewer than five photos, and photos without alt text.
Trademarked brand names in titles, phrasing that reads as reselling, links out of Etsy — the things that get listings removed, not just buried.
Reading the result
Every listing starts at 100 and loses points per issue, weighted by how much it affects search in practice. 80 and above is in good shape; 55–79 has one or two fixable problems; below 55 usually means the title and tags need rewriting together. Each issue comes with its evidence ("title has 5 pipe-separated phrases", "only 9 tags", "Primary colour not set") and a one-line fix, so you can work through them in Etsy's editor in a few minutes.
If you'd rather not do it by hand, Fix this listing fetches the listing's own photos and text and produces a short-style title, exactly 13 tags, a description that opens with the focus keyword, and the attributes to set — shown next to the original so you copy only what you want.
Check competitors, not just your own listings
Search your main keyword on Etsy, open the top three results and paste each link here. You'll see what their titles lead with, how they use the 13 tags and which attributes they set. It's the most concrete way to learn what Etsy is rewarding in your category right now — and usually the fastest way to find the attribute you forgot.
When to use the shop audit instead
If you want the whole shop ranked by what to fix first, run the free shop audit: same rules on every active listing, with the top issues across the shop summarised at the top. The listing checker is for one listing at a time — a new one you just published, a competitor's, or a listing beyond the 500 the shop audit covers.

Questions sellers ask
Is the Etsy listing checker free?
Yes. Checking a listing is free and needs no account or shop connection. Paid credits are only used if you ask us to rewrite the listing afterwards.
Can I check a listing that isn't mine?
Yes — any active public listing. Checking the listings already ranking for your keyword is the fastest way to see what Etsy is rewarding in your category.
Why can't it find my listing?
Only active listings can be checked: drafts, expired, sold-out and inactive listings aren't in Etsy's public API. A listing published in the last hour can also take a little while to appear — try again shortly.
What's the difference from the shop audit?
Same rules, same score. The shop audit runs them on every active listing and ranks the shop's biggest problems; the listing checker runs them on one listing. Big shops use the checker for listings beyond the 500 the shop audit covers.
Does it change anything on Etsy?
No. It reads the public listing page — title, description, tags, attributes, photos — and nothing is written back. Rewrites are copied into Etsy by you.
